MOON Premium Fruits is a family business dedicated to the production and marketing of fresh fruit from our own farms.
The name of MOON arises as a tribute to that star for which the human being has always felt admiration and respect for the great influence that its energy has on people, the seas and of course on plants. Many of the agricultural works such as pruning, trimming, planting, etc., are carried out taking into account the lunar phase in which we find ourselves. There is no large scientific bibliography that confirms these facts, but popular wisdom has been studying these effects for thousands of years based simply on observation.
The MOON Premium Fruits brand was born in 2017. Our first project focuses on the production of pomegranates, although the business plan includes various crops that will gradually come into production.

One of the fruits with the most antioxidant properties and the most complete active ingredients against various pathologies is the pomegranate (Punica granatum), which is why we believed that it was a bet for the future.
The varieties that we have planted have been selected because they are exclusive in the market, since they are varieties protected under the protection of exploitation licences. This makes them a guarantee of quality for the consumer due to their earliness, internal and external color and exceptional flavor.
The marketing period runs from the end of August to mid-October

We are located in Alcolea de Cinca (Huesca) nestled in the north of the Ebro Valley, on the banks of the Cinca river. Traditionally it has been a fertile area where a diversity of crops (fruit trees, olive trees, rice, corn, vegetables, cereals, almond trees, etc.) have been cultivated since ancient times. Its location is privileged for the cultivation of fruit trees, since we are at the foot of from the Pyrenees but only 185 meters above sea level. This translates into very cold and dry winters (necessary to obtain quality fruit) together with very hot and also very dry summers (ideal for proper ripening).
Likewise, the proximity to the Pyrenees is an added value to the area. Its waters are channeled directly from the mountains to irrigate our fields with water of unsurpassed quality and purity.

OUR FARM
Currently, a single farm dedicated to the cultivation of pomegranates is in production.
It currently consists of 7 ha of cultivation in which two varieties are distributed: EMEK and SHANI
The total production of pomegranates per campaign is around 200 tons.
A new irrigation and fertilization system has been implemented on the farm in order to optimize resources to the maximum in terms of saving water, fuel and fertilizers, and in turn adjust the nutrition of the crop based on its real needs. .
Pest and disease controls are carried out weekly to avoid and prevent damage to the harvest as well as to limit the use of phytosanitary products as much as possible. One of the objectives is to achieve the goal of obtaining “0 pesticides” quality fruit.
Another differentiating element is that the entire estate is protected from the strong winds that hit this area through a network of natural and artificial windbreaks. This protection means that the fruit is protected from the blows of the wind and thus does not suffer mechanical damage to the skin, resulting in an exceptional fruit without defects and with an unbeatable presence.
